I'm just not in the habit of putting on any airs or playing center stage, so to speak. I tend to lurk and just pop in with a quick post or two if I feel passionate enough about something. I certainly don't want to make a pest of myself or sound like a "know it all" which, as everyone knows, is more than a pain in the ass. As for NOLA, that's shorthand for New Orleans, Louisiana (which is abbreviated as La), hence N. O., La. I was there as a volunteer doing home reconstruction for post Katrina victims (yeah, there's still a lot of misery there). I tend to try to take vacations that are both educational and worthwhile in terms of community service. Obviously, one can't save the world; but if each of us starts with a little corner of it, then at least the world will begin to move in the right direction
